A SewEzi sewing table is designed to create a better sewing experience wherever you want to sew. SewEzi tables make ideal sewing room furniture where you can complete your patchwork quilting and other home sewing projects, such as curtain making or dressmaking, and, unlike traditional sewing cabinets, have the added advantage of being able to be packed away when you need additional space. SewEzi sewing tables allow you to sew in any room of your house - whether you are lucky enough to have a sewing room or you simply want to sew in your living room. The SewEzi Portable sewing machine table is ideal for smaller spaces and to take to retreats and classes; the SewEzi Grande sewing machine table is the ideal sewing room workstation; and the SewEzi Extension table allows you to extend your work surface, creating options in the sewing room and beyond.
SewEzi sewing machine tables have a flat sewing surface. This flat sewing bed acts like a permanent extension table - it allows you to sew a few more inches at a time, and supports the weight of your project which will cause less drag. However, unlike traditional extension tables, because your sewing machine does not sit on top of a table (it sits on a shelf below the tabletop), your arms are not raised those extra few inches and you benefit from less stress and strain across your neck and shoulders. This ergonomic design allows you to sew more comfortably for longer. Look no further for sewing room furniture!
SewEzi sewing tables really do make it so easy to sew wherever you want!
SewEzi sewing tables can be set up to fit most commercially available sewing machines, including older machines. The insert kit, included with each table, contains spacers to adjust the height, where required, and an accurately cut 6mm acrylic insert to match the free-arm of each sewing machine. We will produce an insert for any machine at no extra cost if we do not have one pre-cut; please note that if we do not have an insert pre-cut it may take up to 15 working days for the insert to be ready.
Accessories available for SewEzi Sewing Tables:
Quilters Quest is the only distributor for SewEzi in the UK and Ireland. We have included a list of frequently asked questions at the bottom of this page.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Does the plastic sewing machine insert come with the table? Yes. When you purchase a SewEzi Portable or Grande sewing machine table, one pre-cut plastic insert is included in the purchase price. Additional inserts can be bought if you have more than one sewing machine or change your machine later. You must tell us the Make and exact Model number of your sewing machine(s) when ordering the table.
Will my sewing machine fit into a SewEzi sewing table? Most likely, there are a few very wide sewing machines that do not fit. We no longer publish a list for you to check if your sewing machine fits as even if your machine is not on the list, it will probably fit an existing insert or we will endeavour to measure the machine and make one for you.
Can a SewEzi sewing table be taken to classes and retreats? Yes, the SewEzi Portable was manufactured to be portable. The top dimension 87cm x 48cm, (34” x 19”) has been carefully designed to give a good size work area but be small enough to fit into most small cars. The wheels are attached permanently to the table and there are two handle cut outs in the top to make moving your SewEzi Portable easy. The SewEzi Portable has been engineered to be as light as possible while still retaining sufficient strength and stability to cope with the demands of many different sewing uses, from high speed sewing on large machines to dressmaking and quilting. The SewEzi Grande is designed for your sewing room but is relocatable, this means it can be easily folded for storage or relocation. At 17kgs it is significantly heavier than the Portable.
Can SewEzi sewing machine tables be used with more than one type of sewing machine? Yes, you can use our sewing tables with different sewing machines (not at the same time), you may have to buy additional inserts. Due to the differences in height between sewing machines a SewEzi Quick Change Set may also be required, this system allows for fast and easy changes between sewing machines.
What are SewEzi sewing tables made of? All our tables have a smooth working area made from Medium Density Fibre (MDF) board which is finished with two pot kitchen grade paint. The corners and edges of the top are rounded to allow for the free movement of fabric. The leg system is made from furniture tube which has been powder coated and contains a UV blocker to minimise fading in high UV environments.
Do the sewing tables have a cover? A SewEzi canvas cover is included to help protect the table during storage or relocation.
What inserts are available for SewEzi sewing tables? There are three types of inserts available for our sewing machine tables. The acrylic sewing machine insert (included with the table), the solid insert (to create a solid table top) and the clear acrylic (light-box) insert. Additional inserts can be purchased at any time. PLEASE TAKE CARE when handling the acrylic sewing machine inserts, as they may break if they are dropped.
Does my table need a Large Machine Brace? The table brace only fits the SewEzi Portable and Extension tables, it is not necessary for the SewEzi Grande tables. SewEzi recommends the table brace for use with sewing machines weighing over 13kgs (29lbs). When purchasing a Portable Table for the Bernina 7 & 8 Series it is a compulsory requirement; some people purhcase them for added peace of mind, we should be able to tell you if one is needed or not for your machine. The brace is also useful in high traffic areas like classrooms and shops where there is a higher risk of the table being knocked or bumped.
Will my serger / overlocker fit into a SewEzi sewing table? There are three ways SewEzi sewing tables can accommodate sergers / overlockers. Firstly, for Portables and Grandes, you can place the serger / overlocker down into the cut out in the top of the table (just like a normal sewing machine), most older model serger / overlockers fit. Some of the newer models that have been manufactured in the last couple of years are just too large for this method. It depends on the size of the serger / overlocker fitting into the table top cut out. The Portable cut out size is 27 cm x 31cm (10½ ” x 12½”); the Grande cut out is 27cm x 67cm, (10½” x 26”). The second method, again for for Portables and Grandes, works for all serger / overlockers: purchase the SewEzi Solid Insert to fill the cut out in the top of the table. Once this gap is covered over a serger / overlocker can sit on top. Thirdly, a SewEzi Extension Table could be used – just remember it will not provide a flat sewing bed.
