Quilters Quest have a wonderful range of handmade & handpainted, fully washable buttons for you to choose from. Incomparable Buttons are handmade in South Africa. Women from the local community. Most of the Incomparable team had never held a paintbrush before they joined the company but they are now absolute masters of their brushes & justifiably proud of their work. The ladies sense of belonging within the company & skills as crafters not only gives them tremendous pleasure but also provides them with economic empowerment & has uplifted all their families. Each button is made & painted entirely by hand. Every button, once made, is dried outside in the warm South African sun then fired to a bisque & hand painted. At this stage they are taken through a 24 hour firing to the hottest temperature the colours will withstand so as to ensure their complete durability & extreme hardiness. Incomparable buttons are fully washable & dry cleanable. This offers sewers, knitters, crafters and clothing manufacturers a great new alternative to plastic. With embellishment becoming ever more popular, the buttons are also perfect for quilters & cross stitchers who are looking to add unique finishing touches to their projects - as well as for many, many different craft applications.
We also have a selection of small buttons, with polka dot or gingham designs. These are available individually or in stacker pots, with approximately 90 buttons in each stack. The stacker pots would make a great gift for a crafty friend!
